This study is useful to consumers, city manager and both manufacturers and growers of Christmas Trees. The study shows that all users in the value stream of a Christmas tree, both artificial and natural, play a role in the environmental impacts of a Christmas tree. City waste managers should be concerned with the disposal methods available to the citizens within their community. Artificial Manufactures and cultivators can impact the way that trees are prepared and delivered to their consumers. Consumers can determine if an artificial tree is better than a live tree based on where they live.
